Telefônica, América Móvil and Oi are the biggest Telecom companies in Brazil
Sky and TIM have the biggest growth and GVT is the most profitable

Telefônica is the biggest Telecommunication group in Brazil in net revenue and number of accesses, follewed by América Móvil (Claro, Embratel and Net) and by Oi.
In 1Q12, SKY led revenue growth, TIM was the leader in accesses net adds and GVT in EBITDA margin.
In the first semester of 2011, Teleco started keep track of the de performance presented by Telecom groups in Brazil through selected indicators. The following shows the results for each of these indicators in 2011.
Number of Accesses: Telefônica is the leader
Brazil ended 1Q12 counting 328.3 million accesses, 255.1 million from were mobiles (Cellular and SME) and 73.2 million fixed (fixed telephones, fixed broadband and pay TV).
Telefônica/Vivo Group is the leader in total of accesses, or Revenue Generating Units (RGU).

América Móvil (Claro, Embratel, Net) is second, overtaking Oi in 2010. América Móvil is the paay TV leader.
Oi leads in fixed accesse, but can be surpassed in total accesses by TIM which led net adds in 1Q12. The difference between both operators reaches 3 million accesses.

Net Revenue: Oi is third
Telefônica is the biggest telecom group of Brazil in revenue, holding R$ 8.3 billion in 1Q12, from a total of nearly R$ 31.8 billion registered by telecom providers' net revenue in Brazil.

Note: Groups' net revenue considers eliminations of revenue common between companies of the Group. Sky's revenue was estimated by Teleco.
América Móvil Group (Claro, Embratel and Net) is second in revenue, followed by Oi.

The four biggest telecom groups in Brazil are responsible for 85.6% of the Brazilian telecom net revenue in 1Q12.
Revenue Growth: SKY is the leader
SKY kept the leadership in revenue growth in 1Q12. SKY's revenue and growth were estimated by Teleco based on the results gotten by the company in Latin America.

GVT was placed in the second position (35.1%) followed by TIM (19.1%). Smaller Groups have the advantage in this indicator. Oi was the only group to present negative growth in revenue (-1.9%).
Net Adds: TIM kept the leadership in 1Q12
TIM kept the leadership in net adds, despite of being overtaken by Vivo in cellular net adds. Telefônica/Vivo presented negative net adds in fixed telephones and Pay TV.

América Móvil Group was second, due to its performance in fixed segment, with net adds of 1.2 million gotten mostly in pay TV.
Oi's net adds were affected by fixed telephony which continued to show negative net adds.
Profitability: GVT leads in EBITDA Margin
GVT kept the leadership in EBITDA margin and Telefônica got the second position. Other groups presented EBITDA margin inferior to 30%.

Telefônica showed the biggest profit in 1Q12 - R$ 957 million (11.5% of net revenue), followed by Oi - R$ 498 million (6.5% of net revenue) and by TIM - R$ 276 million (6.2% of net revenue).
